What did you Expect?

Our mini church selected a marriage-based bible study for the fall called What did you Expect? We are currently in the fourth week of the dvd series and are simultaneously reading the book as well. The author of the study, Paul Tripp, is very honest and straightforward and does not make his points lightly. The main focus of the study is improving our vertical relationship with God as a priority, and improvement in our horizontal relationships will be an effect of our pursuit of Christ. This is not to say that marriage does not take purposeful effort and work from each of us, but we can never have the marriage Christ intended for us if he is not the first priority in our marriage.  This study has been great jumping off point for Justin and I to discuss how we can improve our relationship with one another as well as our relationship with Christ. It is through this that we have developed personal and collaborative goals in these areas as well.

On the subject of marriage, we are excited to be traveling back to Tennessee this weekend to celebrate the wedding of Sherayah and Reed and to visit with family! Hopefully I will have pictures to include for the next post :)
