I cannot believe it is April already! March was a busy month at our house. Work has been very busy for us both as Justin is training for his new positions and I was wrapping up a project cycle with our KED talk event night, a spin on the well known TED talk events. I also taught a week long intersession course on cooking, Iron Chef style. Check out some photos
here.
Justin knew work was crazy and has gone above and beyond to do special little things for me over the last month. I had a week where I worked four late nights in a row and it was freezing and snowing again, and I had hot chocolate waiting to warm me up when I got home. He also knows I am always running late in the mornings, so he has been setting out my breakfast first thing when he gets up everyday. He also has surprised me with my favorite candy, a new game for our kinect, and meals planned and cooked.

Justin has been wanting a new xbox since we got married because the disk drive or something was wrong with the old one. I wanted a wii or something we could play together. We decided to compromise and buy a new xbox with kinect. We have to push all the furniture out of the way to play, so our living room has been a little crazy looking the past few weeks. Peyton is so confused as to what we are doing when we play the kinect but she keeps trying to sneak on top of the xbox because it is warm.

I have been looking for a coffee scented candle because Justin loves his coffee and Peyton is always glued to his side when he is drinking it. After I couldn't find what I was looking for, I found a pin on pinterest to use coffee beans and tea candles to get the same scent. Peyton was very interested when I put these together. A few days later I kept hearing a clinking sound when I thought was her eating her food, but she wasn't near her bowl. I later found out it was her eating coffee beans. Have you ever seen a cat with a caffeine high?
Last summer we were fed up with the geese around our pond. There were literally hundreds and they were mean. We were so happy when the pond froze over and they left. Well the other day I heard honking outside and sure enough, they have started their return! Apparently it is illegal to kill geese because they are protected by some canadian migratory bird act or something. I think it may be time to get a dog...or at least borrow one.
Last week, one of the couples from our mini church group had their baby. His name is Rayden and he is only 24 hours old here. We drove down to Oshkosh to eat with friends, visited Tina, Jason, and Rayden in the hospital, and then went to one of their houses to play games and watch basketball. What a great evening to kick off my spring break! :)
For Easter, our furry friends Peter and Piper came to visit. Peyton went wild trying to chase them through the window. We went to the early service at church, opened Easter goodies (you are never too old for the Easter bunny, aka mom!), and went to brunch. It felt way too cold to be Easter, though! I realized that I need some closed toed heels that are not black.
The sweetest furry friend there is!
We are so thankful for Jesus and the sacrifice he made for us. How blessed we are!
